The Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council was established in 1916 and is the second oldest Fine Crafts Organization in the country, which speaks to its success. Check out our Historical Journey from inception to the present day. WDCC recognizes a responsibility to influence and provide support to multiple communities.
First and foremost, our members. We strive to assist them by providing opportunities to expose their work to the public. The premier Morning Glory Art Fair, Gallery Nights, the new MKE Fine Craft Studio Tour are currently our main events. In addition, members can display a portfolio of their work on this web site, participate in WDCC sponsored workshops and studio visits, enjoy the opportunity to submit work to exhibit at WDCC sponsored Morning Glory Gallery in the Marcus Center, network with other artists at WDCC events, and exhibit in our biennial members exhibit. We are now creating new virtual ways to support our artists through our Online Shopping Directory and are planning virtual workshops for the future.
WDCC furthers its mission of outreach and support of the broader fine craft community by donating to Arts Wisconsin and to cerf+ the Craft Emergency Relief Fund.
Craft Emergency Relief Fund, a national organization which provides financial support to artists who have experienced a major setback due to illness, accident, fire, natural disaster, or other type of unexpected event. A portion of the proceeds from our annual silent auction go to support this cause. Arts Wisconsin is Wisconsin’s community cultural development organization, activating a vibrant creative economy and access to creative opportunities statewide.
