DAY TRIP TO WASHINGTON, DC
WDCC members and guests traveled in May via Midwest Express to spend an exciting, inspirational day in our nation's Capitol. Our travelers first visited the Renwick Gallery, where the show, USA Clay, was on display. Then director Kenneth Trapp treated guests to a very special, personal tour of the Renwick's permanent collection, including a magnificent wood cabinet by WDCC member Charley Radtke, of Cedarburg, Wis. Then it was off to the Mall for museum hopping, lunch, and siteseeing! On the way back to the airport, the bus stopped at several impressive memorials, including the Vietnam, Korean, and new Roosevelt Memorial. It was an incredible day - special thanks to Karen Bergenthal at East Town Travel in Milwaukee for arranging another terrific trip. |
