CELEBRATING OUR 6-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!
Morning Glory GalleryMarcus Center For the Performing Arts 929 N. Water St. Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin 414-765-7227 Open Thur., Fri. & Sat. 12-6 and during all performances in Uihlein Hall The Morning Glory Gallery features contemporary, handmade fine crafts created by members of the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council. More than 50 artists working in ceramics, fiber, jewelry, leather, photography, glass, sculpture, wood and mixed media are represented in the gallery's handsome space inside the lobby of the Marcus Center in downtown Milwaukee, Wis. A milestone will be reached in the summer of 2011, when the Morning Glory Gallery celebrates five years of showcasing the work of its WDCC members. Many thanks to our customers who have come to appreciate the beauty of handmade, one-of-a-kind fine crafts and support local artists. Stop by and visit the gallery before a show (or during intermission) in Uihlein Hall - the Milwaukee Symphony, Milwaukee Ballet, Florentine Opera or Marcus Broadway series. The gallery also has regular hours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 12 noon until 6 p.m. (or by appointment), and new work arrives weekly. "Our gallery offers an amazing selection of contemporary fine crafts unlike any other venue in the city. And our unique partnership with the Marcus Center, combining visual arts with performing arts, benefits everyone," says Barb Chappell, WDCC president. The Morning Glory Gallery is an extension of the longstanding partnership between the Wisconsin Designer Crafts Council and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts. Each year WDCC stages its popular Morning Glory Fine Craft Fair the second full weekend in August at the Marcus Center. Shoppers can now purchase fine craft work from the same talented artists year-round. For those looking for original fine craft work by a Wisconsin artist, a unique gift, or a handsome home furnishing, you will find beautiful choices to enhance your decor and lifestyle at the Morning Glory Gallery. WDCC members interested in having their work represented in the gallery should e-mail gallery@marcuscenter.org. |
